How Deskmanager puts its suppliers’ full catalogues in front of Swiss companies

Deskmanager sells office supplies and office furniture to companies in Switzerland. The Kreezalid team designed, built and hosts its online shop: more than 100,000 references from its suppliers’ catalogues, configurable furniture, and company accounts with their own prices and approval rules.

The challenge

An office supplier competes on range and on service to purchasing departments. Deskmanager needed to offer its suppliers’ full catalogues, from paper and filing to configurable office furniture, without retyping them, and to sell to companies the way companies buy: negotiated prices, several people ordering on one account, and someone who signs off before an order goes out.

The solution

Instead of a marketplace template, the Kreezalid team built Deskmanager as a custom application with integrations on the supplier side. Supplier catalogues are imported in bulk with their images, and a supplier feed keyed by product code carries prices, costs and stock into the shop. Office furniture is configured in pCon and comes back as a priced product, ready to order or to include in an offer. Each client company has its own account, its own negotiated prices and category discounts, and an approval step for the orders its colleagues place.

What it enables

The catalogue comes from the suppliers instead of being maintained by hand, prices follow each company’s terms without manual quoting, and purchasing departments order, approve, reorder and retrieve their delivery notes and invoices online. Kreezalid hosts the application and keeps it running.

What the shop does

  1. Catalogue

    Supplier catalogues, not retyped

Bulk imports of supplier catalogues and their images, a supplier feed for prices, costs and stock, and instant search across the whole range.

  2. Configurator

    Furniture configured in pCon

A desk or a workstation configured in pCon comes back as a product with its own reference, price and images, ready for the cart or an offer.

  3. Accounts

    One company, several buyers

A company administrator invites colleagues, reviews the orders they place and approves them, adjusting quantities first if needed.

  4. Pricing

    Each company’s own prices

Negotiated prices per product and discounts per category, shown in the shop and downloadable as the company’s price list.

  5. Offers

    Tailored offers

The Deskmanager team builds PDF offers for a client company, configured furniture included.

  6. After the order

    Deliveries, returns, invoices

Delivery notes, return slips and invoices as PDF, a message thread on each order, one-click reorder and an Excel export of any order.
